Directory touch screen kiosk user interfaceBaton Rouge Community College Launches New Self-Service Technology
Initiative Creates Convenience for Student Community

Portsmouth, RI - September 24, 2007 - The semester is in full swing at Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC) where returning students will notice technological advancements designed to empower them.

BRCC chose Self-Service Networks to deliver self-service kiosks that help students perform a diverse range of services—such as class registration and tuition payment. The Self-Service Networks’ solution features a custom user interface that is fast, easy and secure for student use.

This new technology complements Self-Service Networks’ first project with BRCC where they created an interactive directory enabling students to more easily locate specific class locations and faculty offices. The directory also includes campus maps which help students and visitors easily find a destination.

For maximum impact, the BRCC interactive campus directory was designed to run on eye-catching, wall-mounted 40” touch screens. Self-Service Networks also ensured that the directory application is easy for BRCC to update.

Moore believes, “Both of these self-service initiatives are designed to empower our students, and we are pleased with how quickly students have embraced self-service.”
